Christmas Tour of Homes:

The annual Christmas Tour of Homes is scheduled for Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Delhi/Deerfield: History, Legends, and Lore

The book consist of a collection of articles written by Delhi Garden Club member, Dr. Dorothy Phillips Bradley and focuses primarily on the history of Delhi and its predecessor, Deerfield Landing.

Projects (2009 - 2010)

Yard of the Month and Business Beautification Awards:

The Yard of the Month recognizes an outstanding residential yard and the Business Beautification Award is presented to a commercial property. A sign is placed in the yard of the winners who best exemplify the stated criteria for improving the appearance of Delhi.

 

National Garden Club Week:

The occasion is observed each year by presenting a book on gardening to the library.

 

Civic Beautification and Restoration:

Thompson-Anding Plaza – Plantings and landscape maintenance are provided by club members.

Delhi Charter School Flag Pole Flower Bed – Members plant and maintain a bed of seasonal red, white, and blue flowers, and related shrubs, around the flag pole.

Town of Delhi Cleanup Campaign – Members work with the Town of Delhi and other organizations doing volunteer work and assisting in cleanup and beautification efforts.

 

Bird Sanctuary:

Members strive to maintain Delhi as a bird sanctuary by planting trees, shrubs, and flowers that provide food and shelter for birds and butterflies.

 

National Arbor Day:

A flowering tree is planted in an appropriate area to commemorate this occasion.

 

Plant Exchange:

Club members exchange plants from their yards with other members at the last meeting each year.

 

Valentine Day Service Project:

Club members design and prepare floral arrangements for distribution to patients at Delhi Hospital.
